DUBAI: ICC CEO Manu Sawhney, that has been suspended from the International Cricket Council on allegations of misconduct, has called the regulating body probe from him as a”premeditated witch-hunt”.
Sawhney was delivered on”depart” in March following his behavior came to the scanner through an internal evaluation by audit company PWC.
“It’s abundantly clear for me, because it is to any sensible individual or bystander, I am the victim of a premeditated witch-hunt.
All pretence at job a reasonable procedure or offering me a fair hearing was totally abandoned.
“There has not been any effort to abide by the ICC’s internal policies or perhaps fundamental principles of natural justice,” Sawhney has been quoted as saying from Cricbuzz.
Sawhney had reacted to the allegations at a disciplinary hearing held on June 17.
He’d come under scrutiny because of alleged adulterous conduct with his coworkers and authoritarian manner of functioning.
“All these allegations are based entirely on anonymous statements that nobody has made any effort to confirm or research.
On the grounds of the bullet points, I might lose my livelihood and my standing.
Honestly, the entire scenario is just nothing short of a scandal.
“But I think it’s crucially important to my integrity, which of the ICC, which I defy this blatant effort to drive me in office, that would put a very dangerous precedent.
“I’m also determined to make sure that the important accomplishments of the ICC throughout my tenure aren’t airbrushed from history.
I’ll even exercise my right to appeal some guilty choice to this board, in accordance with paragraph 7 of the ICC’s disciplinary coverage and policy 17.4 of my job .” Sawhney has also contested the PWC report.
“The PWC report specifically states that its goal was to know and evaluate the present culture and inherent organizational behaviors inside the ICC.
“The PWC report is consequently that the product of a standard evaluation of workplace culture, it’s not a product of a comprehensive disciplinary analysis that adheres to the fundamental principles of proof.
To put it differently, the practice undertaken with the PWC shouldn’t be mistaken with a suitable disciplinary evaluation,” said the Indian.
Sawhney is a former CEO of Singapore Sports Hub and served as Managing Director of ESPN Star Sports, a firm he worked together for 17 Decades.
