Thiruvananthapuram: Ten police officers from the state, including the Police Commissioner IG and Kochi C Nagaraju, were chosen for the presidential police medal for service contributing to the evening of the Republic of Day.A 2003-Batch Officer, Nagaraju joined ASP in Agali and presented in various other posts including Digging (headquarters), digging CBI, District Police Chief (Alappuzha), SP (Telecommunication), SP (Train) and DCP (Thiruvananthapuram City).
While in the Central Deputation, he posted as the SP CBI Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB) in Mumbai and later as the CBI Gal (banking and banking fraud banking) in Mumbai.in CBI, he oversees sensitive and high-case corruption investigations effectively and guaranteed Timely arrest and archiving time in case.
He also conducted postgraduate programs in public policy and management from IIM-Bangalore and completed his mphil in the criminology of Cambridge University.
Returning to cadres after his deputability, he posted as an excavation (headquarters and administration), and then as IG and Commissioner (Kochi).
Other officers chosen for medals including B Krishnakumar (SP, Internal Security), R Jayashankar (SP, Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau, Selatan Range), KH Muhammed Kabeer Rawther (Additional SP, Idukki), KR Venugopal (Vigilance Officer, Cochin Shipyard), MK Gopalakrishnan (Assistant Commissioner, Branch Special Branch, Thrissur), TP Shyam), TP Shyam Sunder (Deputy Commander, Armed Police Battalion Kerala, Kannur), Sajan K George (Sub-Inspector, Special Branch, Ernakulam Rural), Sasikumar L (Assistant Sub-Inspector, VACB, ThiruvananThapuram) and Sheeba AK (Assistant Sub-Inspector, Passkad) PS, Thrissur).
However, there were no officers from the state chosen this year for the presidential police medal for leading services.
