HUBBALLI: Together with northern Karnataka districts under strict lockdown because Saturday, residents are trying to lead normal lifetime at the lack of daily essentials such as meat, eggs and other states. Together with all the respective district administrations announcing whole lockdown without devoting enough time to allow people to stock up on provisions, many households are managing available products. On the flip side, some dealers are trekking cost for essential products and selling them . Speaking to TOI, Manjula Pujari, a homemaker in Gokul Road, Dharwad stated officials declared full lockdown barring supply shops on Friday afternoon. “They neglected to recognise their own lapses. The supply shops were already closed by 10am on Friday. We believed we could handle for 2 days. But they extended complete lockdown until Wednesday forcing us to endure,” she alleged. Sunanda Kadame, a writer from Kalidas Nagar, Hubballi, stated some dealers are selling markets closed doors, however in greater cost. Anand Navalgund, a private company worker, said that he couldn’t stock up on bread and biscuits to his children prior to the lockdown has been declared. Prema Naduvinamani, a poet in Sampige Nagar, Dharwad stated:”Daily employees buy grocery stores on daily basis. They’re left with no jobs through lockdown and they are oblivious of provisions. Officials should have thought about those individuals before imposing limitations without giving them sufficient time.” Steps being taken”We’ve received lots of such grievances and also have realised that the problem. Several have complained they are deprived of markets because of abrupt execution of complete lockdown. We’re taking appropriate steps to ensure individuals aren’t deprived of essentials,” said district ministry Jagadish Shetttar.
