Mumbai: India-Pakistani matches that are highly anticipated at the T20 World Cup which are ongoing records of 167 million viewers, making it the most visited T20 international to date, the official announcer of the event is claimed.
The T20 World Cup recorded a cumulative range of 238 million until last week which included the qualification and the first 12 Super 12 Stage match, said Star India in the release.
The T20 2016 World Cup semifinals between India and West Indies are the highest T20 matches watched before, with a range of 136 million viewers.
“With a range of 167 million, Indian-Pakistani clashes that were highly anticipated on October 24, an event that saw arch rivals met in the ICC tournament after two years, now the most widely seen T20i matches, exceeded the previous highest.

India and Pakistan open their campaign against each other on October 24 with men in Green defeating their arch rivals to register a 10-goal victory.
“The Indian-Pakistani match has created history by recording 167 million viewers, making it the most visible T20i match until now,” Indian star spokesman said as quoted.
“We continue to strive to grow the audience base for Marquee Cricket and this recording is proof of our efforts in high decibel campaigns, increasing storytellers, and consumer innovation.” While Pakistan has advanced to the semifinals, India comes out of the tournament on Monday.
“There is no doubt that the results of the match and the Indian exit of the tournament disappointed fans but the viewers’ recording featured the power of a unique cricket to involve the audience on a scale that had never happened before,” said the spokesman.
