Birmingham: India will face Australia in the opening match when women’s cricket made a debut at the 2022 Commonwealth Games on July 29 while the final will be played on August 7, the event organizers announced on Friday.
Female Cricket made its debut at The Commonwealth Games with the T20 format.
The last time the cricket was played in a multi-sports showpiece was in the 1998 edition in Kuala Lumpur.
“Women’s Cricket T20 competition will be held at the Edgbaston Stadium from July 29, with a bronze match and gold medal takes place on August 7,” ECB said in a statement.
The first match on the schedule to see Australia took in India in the initial session on July 29 was attended by Pakistan playing Barbados, who was recently confirmed as a team of West Indies who will take part in the competition.
Other spotlight on the schedule included India against Pakistan on July 31.
Australia will also face Pakistan on 3.
British hosts will act for the first time on July 30, when they will take the winner of the qualifying tournament which because it took place in early 2022.
They will then play South Africa in the initial session on August 2, followed by the third match Against New Zealand in the evening session on 4.
August seven of the eight qualifications for the T20 competition was announced back in April with the final team set to be completed at the end of January 2022.

The announcement of the match schedule for two sports teams came just a few weeks before the ticket for Birmingham 2022 is expected to undergo public sales.
