LONDON: The Indian cricket team on Thursday wore a black arm tire on the opening day of the fourth test against England as a sign of respect for the famous Cricketer and coach Vasu Paranjape, who died earlier this week in Mumbai.
“The Indian Cricket Team is a black arm sports tire today to respect the death of Shri Vasudev Paranjape #Teamindia,” BCCI Tweets along with pictures of the Indian team wearing black-hand bands.
Paranajpe, 82, died at his residence in Matunga in Mumbai on August 30 and survived his wife and son Jatin, who was a former national voter and Indian player.
The cricket board also previously stated his sadness in Paranjape’s death.
Some former Indian players, including legendary Sunil Gavascar and Icon Kriket Sachin Tendulkar, have paid rich tribute to Pararajape, who have served the game in various capacities.
