Colombo (Sri Lanka): Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) on Sunday announced that permission has been given to Dushmantha Chameera and Wanindu Hasaranga to participate in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021.
Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) has been roaming in Sri Lanka Hasaranga And Chameera respectively instead for Adam Zampa and Daniel Sams for the 14th edition of the IPL.
“Permissions for players are given by SLC in consultation with the Technical Advisory Committee,” SLC said in a statement.
“‘There was no objection statement’ to the Duo was issued for them to join the IPL team starting September 15 (after completion of the South African tour of Sri Lanka),” he added.
SLC said the two players would join the Sri Lanka squad on October 10 to play in two heating games before the T20 ICC Men’s Qualification.
The 14th season, which was postponed in May this year after the Pandemic Covid-19, will continue on September 19 in Dubai with Blockbuster clashes between Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians.
The action will shift to Abu Dhabi where Kolkata Knight Riders will directly fight the Bangalore Royal Challengers.
Sharjah will host his first game on September 24 when Royal Challengers Bangalore took Chennai Super Kings.
Overall, 13 matches will be held in Dubai, 10 in Sharjah, and 8 in Abu Dhabi.
