MySuru: In the past decade, 71% of wells analyzed in the state have reported an increase in water surfaces, according to data by Central Air Board (CGWB).
In Karnataka, the Directorate of Land analyzes water levels every month.
The figure was related to the period between November 2010 and November 2020.
Among 1,316 wells were analyzed, excess for 4 meters falling on the surface of the water was reported in just 1.7% of wells.

“Generally increasing water levels in the rainy season because two drops of main reasons in demand for groundwater and rainwater are charging underground ground water,” he said.
However, experts show that these findings do not represent the overall description.
