Hubballi: Chairman of the Minister of Basavaraj Bommai on Wednesday said the government would take legal roads to ban Maharashtra Ekikaran Samiti (MES) in Karnataka.
After attending a meeting of the two-day State Executive Committee in Hubballi, Bommai urged Pro-Kannada activists to call Bandh proposed on December 31.
“We are considering all legal options to ban MES.
I am in talks with the Ministry of Law and General Advocates about this issue.
I urged the bandh committee to pull it,” he said.
Bommai also reasoned that the economy still picked up the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic and the bandh call at this point will hurt the middleClass and ordinary people further.
“Bandh is not the answer to everyone CM said the government had approved the call of pro-Kannada organizations to act against those who were anti-kannada.
Asked whether the country was ready to face the situation with “strength”, he said: “We will receive a call at that time.”
