MADIKERI: A week after the former speaker and BJP MLA Kg Bopaah, representing the Virajpet assembly segment in Kodagu, accepting extortion calls, Karnataka police have solved this case.
Anand, Sheeter Rowdy, has been arrested at the Bengaluru train station.
On charges of demanding money from MLA to avoid fake ACB attacks, 31-year-old Anand was arrested by police cyber Division Madikeri.
The caller has demanded RS 1 Crore a ransom of MLA.
The caller told Bopaiiah that ACB would carry out a surprise attack at MLA’s house based on complaints received from the near circle on his illegal income.
The defendant further said that the transfer of RS 1 Crore to his account would avoid this attack.
Within 24 hours after the call, the police tracked it to Visakhapatnam at Andhra Pradesh.
Bopaiiah has filed a complaint at the Madikeri police station and has approached the DGP Praveen Sood.
Anand accused of being a native population in Koratagae Village in Tumkur Regency.
He has used two cellphones to call Bopaiah.
A separate police team led by Siddapur Sub-Inspector Mohanraj Diaular for inquiry.
The police have confiscated two mobile phones and SIM cards.
The team traveled more than 2,500 km to find out the actual culprit.
Anand was accused of working as a driver in Bengaluru.
He is one of the most sought-after culprit in Karnataka, Andhra and Telangana in various crimes by police.
Previously, he was imprisoned in many cases.
Anand got the idea to get fast money by squeezing VIP in prison during a discussion with other prison friends, revealing the police.
