Hubballi: While Hubballi-Dharwad celebrates the leader of Basavaraj Bommai to CM, the question is: Is he going to power for more than nine months, his father’s tenure, the late SR Bommai who is the first cm of the city.
Bommai SR faced the disgracion of the MLA.
He played an important role in stopping abuse of article 356 by the center by submitting a case that questioned the dissolution of his government.
With this, it gives a new dimension to the relationship between states.
When he took over cm on August 13, 1988, the government consisted of MLAS from Janata’s party.
The party was combined with Lok Dal and changed Janata Dal’s name.
Janata Dal Mla Kalyan Rao Molaky, who has thrown a lot with H de Gowda, presents a letter to the governor who states that 19 MLA has attracted their support to the government.
The governor sent a report to the President to use his strength under article 356 (1).
Seven of the 19 legislators confirmed their support for the government, stating their signatures had been taken by representation errors.
But their requests were ignored and the government was dissolved on April 21, 1989.
Bommai challenged him in the Karnataka High Court which issued a landmark order in 1994 his favor and was enforced by the Supreme Court.
