BELOGIVAVI: Sri Ram Sene member on Sunday morning entered the Christian prayer hall in the Maratha colony here and locked worshipers and a pastor when they had gathered for Mass.
The police rushed to the place written and sent home worshipers over the protection police.
While Lene members accused Pastor Lema Cherian tried to change Hindus into Christianity, he denied it.
He said he only led prayer on Sunday.
These meetings occur every Sunday and no one is forced to take part in it, he said.
“Practicing our faith is fundamental rights that cannot be violated,” he added.
Khade Bazaar ACP, Ajol Chandrappa, said a Hindu man in the hall filed a conversion that accused the complaint and an advocate helped him.
After receiving complaints, FIR will be registered.
There were 30-50 Christians at Mass when Sene members entered the place, shouting at the pastor and locking worshipers in the hall.
“We were told that we would be detained in the room until the police arrived,” a community member then told the media.
The leader of the Satan Ravikumar Kotikar accused the pastors of other states were the village tower in the Belaghiavi and changed Hindus.
He alleged that the church lured a bad Hindus by giving them free items such as sewing machines, sugar, rice and money.
Security around the hall and around Maratha Colony has increased.
