Chennai: All-Rounder Vijay Shankar will lead Tamil Nadu in the tournament Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 who will come in the injured Dinesh Karthik, the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA) announced on Monday.
Adithya Ganesh was chosen to replace Karthik, said TNCA in the release here.
Wicketkeeper-dough and jagousesan has been crowned the team captain.
“Dinesh Karthik was said to suffer a knee injury,” said Head of the Tamil Nadu Vasudevan election committee told PTI.
Experienced karthik stumper-dough has appeared for Kolkata Knight Riders in the final of the IPL against Chennai Super Kings last Friday.
“The Senior Election Committee of the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association has replaced Adithya Ganesh as a injured Dinesh Karthik place, to play in the Trophy Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 for the season 2021-2022,” said TNCA.
The team will also be without the services of the All-Rounder Washington Sundar, which is recovering from a finger injury to be maintained during a British tour, after he was asked to take a six-week break by NCA staff.
Pacer left arm T Natarajan, who missed the second phase of the IPL in the UAE after the Covid-19 contract, was part of Tamil Nadu’s 20th team.
Apart from Natarajan, Bowling attacks include Sandeep Warrier, M Mohammed, J Caira and Spinners R Sai Kishore, M Siddharth and M Ashwin.
