New Delhi: Rajasthan Royals on Tuesday sounded western Indian Duo Evin Lewis and Oshane Thomas as a substitute for the rest of the IPL will be held in the UAE from September 19.
While Lewis will be a substitute for Batsman Jos Buttler, Thomas comes in the English all-rounder all-rounder Ben Stokes in the squad.
“Today’s IPL franchise Royals announced today of their substitute players.
West India Duo Evin Lewis and Oshane Thomas will join the Royals Squad as a substitute for the rest of the IPL …” said the franchise in the release.
Lewis, 29, made his debut for West Indies during the 2016 T20 World T20 campaign in India, and has 1318 operations in its name in 45 T20IS, with a strike speed of 158.
He also scored 1847 runs for West Indies in 57 years.
His blistering show for the national team also took him to be picked up by Indian Mumbai in 2018, for whom he scored 430 runs in 16 matches in the 2018 and 2019 season.
Fast Bowler Thomas, who currently plays for Barbados Royals in the Caribbean Premier League, making his debut International in 2018, after facing India in the Bilateral ODI and T20i series.
Since then, Thomas, the recipient of the player award appeared West Indies in 2019, has taken 27 goals in 20 ODIS, and 19 goals in 17 T20IS.
In the IPL, the API Bowler has represented the Royals in 2019, taking five goals in four matches, and with a franchise for 2020 seasons in the UAE as well.
