Mangaluru: The founder of the ideal ice cream S Prabhakar Kamates, known as ‘Pabba Maam’, died at a private hospital here at Wee Hour on Saturday.
He was 79.
Kamath was hospitalized after an accident on October 28.
Kamath, who started in business dealing with general items, launched an ideal ice cream living room on Jalan Pasar in Mangaluru on May 14, 1975, with 14 flavors.
At present, the ideal ice cream has five parlores in Mangaluru City and their products are available through more than 1,500 dealers in all coastal Karnataka, North Kerala, and South Goa.
The ideal Pabba opened in 1996 and the ideal cafe begins in 2011 is another company of the group.
The ideal Ice Cream unique recipe now extends to more than 40 flavors and around 175 combinations with a distinctive taste.
Prabhakar Kamath survived by the son of Mukund Kamath and two daughters.
Some political leaders, religions and social expressed their condolences in Prabhakar Kamates’s death.
