Prasagraj: with BJP declared Deputy Minister of the Chief, Keshav Prasad Maurya, his candidate from the Sirathu Kaushambi seat, all eyes were in Maurya to ensure a sweep victory as he won in 2012 from this chair.
Maurya is a native of Kaushambi.
Deputy Chairperson of the Minister kicked his political journey in 2004 to fight for the country’s poll for the first time in the election by Allahabad West Party Bhartiya Janata.
But the results were not encouraging for BJP as Keshav who was healed third while the party party Bahujan Samaj won the chair and Khalid Azim from the Samajwadi Party came second.in 2007, Maurya opposed the selection of BJP tickets once again but again the same result (Keshav who came third) with bagging More noise than his first sightseeing.
He was behind the winner of Pooja Pal from BSP and Runner-Up Khalid Azim aka Ashraf from SP.
However, he finally appeared as the first MLA from Sirathu defeated Anand Mohan BSP in 2012 and had never looked back since then.
In 2014 Lok Sabha, the poll, he entered Fray from the Election of Parliament Phulpur (then Allahabad), which was once the chair of the former PM Jawaharlal Nehru, and won it.
This was the first victory in the chair for BJP when Keshav had defeated Dharam Raj Singh Patel from SP while Kapilmuni Karwariya came third and Mohhamad Kaif from Congress came fourth.
In April 2016, Maurya was declared as President of the State Party by BJP Amit Shah and in 2017, BJP came to power in the country with him at the top of the leadership.
He made a CM representative, widely seen as a party’s confession of his role in a victory in the state.
In 2017 he had resigned from Phulpur MP and made MLC by the party.
There was talk about him fighting from Sirathu this time for the past months.
This was driven by the fact that he had been very active in the Kaushambi district for some time now.
