Beleagavi: He juggles frayed nerves and entertains a lot of inmates in prison.
When his death left a large emptiness in their lives, as a respect, inmates in the Hindalga Central Jail built a warning in his memory.
Maxxy touches everyone’s hearts with her love without conditions.
A Rottweiler, Maxxy is a police chief supervisor, Krishna Kumar.
The dog was brought from Punjab when it was a puppy.
When Kumar posted in Hindalga, he brought Maxxy with him to the office.
Rottweilers are generally considered aggressive but in a short time Maxxy began to be friends with prison inmates.
The dog is a favorite with prisoners.
Prisoners even take turns to bathe them every week.
Maxxy even joined the prisoners when they worked in the fields and comforted them with their jokes.
In July, the dog fell ill and died.
Krishna Kumar was surprised and so did the prisoner in prison.
For weeks, everyone grieved.
After a month or more, they decided to build a warning on the funeral site, beside the sp bungalow.
Memorial is built using unused materials used in prison renovation.
A marble is cut in a semi-circle shape where the dog image is engraved.
“The detainees do everything and all the materials are sourced from unused material lying around the prison spot,” Kumar said.
