Prasagraj: When this nation celebrates the 75th Independence Day on Sunday, the brave women’s mountain climbing team is one of Prayagraj as part of the Tri Services All-Women Mountaineering Expedition, Mount Manirang to make a more special celebration.
The expedition was held by Wing Adventure Army to mark the celebration of “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav”.
The team was marked on August 1, 2021.
Major Saumya Shukla from the Red Division of Eagle was one of the members to successfully reflect Mount Manirang from Kinnaur (Himachal Pradesh), the height of 21.625ft on August 15, along with Wing Commander Bhavna, commander of the Nirupama wing and Wing Commander Lalita.
The team will return on August 29, told Shantanu Pratap Singh, Regional Pro (defense), Prasagraj on Tuesday.
Major Saumya Shukla has fulfilled the basic course requirements and sophisticated climbing at the Mount Army Institute, Siachen Base Camp and has appeared in an extraordinary manner in all courses and climbing expeditions, thus functioning as a role model for all candidates for armed forces, he added.
Manirang is one of the highest mountains in Himachal Pradesh.
It is located on the border between Kinnaur, Lahaul and Spiti.
Among the high heights of passes in the Himalayan region in the Spitan Valley, Manirang Pass is considered the most remote and difficult even today.
This pass is calculated to be one of the most unexplored mountain trails in Indian Himalayas.
Mount Manirang (height: 6593 mtr / 21625.04 feet) is known as the crown of spitial valley and is seen as the main challenge for mountain climbers.
