Kolkata: Minister of Sports Manoj Tiway, who made it into politics in the poll this year, on Monday it was mentioned in the possibility of 39 members by the Bengal Cricket Association.
Former Bengali captain played the final Ranji Trophy against Saurashtra in March 2020 and was forced to miss a limited season due to injury.
After joining politics earlier this year, Tiwary, however, did not rule out playing cricket.
“I will maintain my fitness.
I will wait and see how it goes, but I don’t rule out playing a few more games for Bengal,” said Tiwane after winning the Shibpur constituency.
The possibility of senior Bengal will have a fitness camp from July 23 in a statement.
This season will also mark the return of former Laxmi captain Ratan Shukla to Cricket, six years after he joined politics.
Shukla will wear a coach hat for the first time, for the bottom side of 23.
Bengali has previously defended the former former Indian Stalwart VVS Laxman as a batting consultant and Arun Lal veteran as the main coach.
Saiding Lahiri has been appointed as assistant coach, while the former Speedster Shib Shankar Paul is a bowling coach for all Bengal team.
