BELAGIVAVI: More than 3,000 government school teachers who serve in Kalyana Karnataka have been looking for transfers to other districts who quote poor health.
Many of their transfer applications have been awaiting approval for a long time.
Data compiled by the Association of Karnataka State Government Employees shows that around 100 teachers suffer small for severe diseases, including cancer, heart and kidneys.
However, the state government has not issued a notice because of the volume of vacancies that have not been filled in Kalyana Karnataka.
In all, as many as 4,008 teachers in the Kalaburagi Division were posted from the South and Central District of Karnataka.
Of these, 3,178 has been searching for transfers.
Many teachers have worked in the Division for the past 10 to 15 years.
