Prasagraj: In A First, Allahabad University (AU) will make it easier for teachers who serve every year during their annual meetings.
Teacher’s assessment, to be chosen as ‘extraordinary’, will be based on the secret feedback of 30,000 students.
Although academic and other achievements will also be considered, student feedback will be an important part of the assessment.
The Central Varsity plans to identify one teacher for each of the four faculties – Arts, Science, Trade and Law – and then give awards, dubbed the ‘Dronacharya Award’, for the first time on the upcoming annual convocation function planned for it resistant In September.
The teachers will be judged by the feedback of students who will assess their teachers to various parameters starting from enthusiasm to teach, regularity in taking classes to knowledge and command on the latest research and developments regarding their specific fields.
Feedback from students will be taken online and will be kept confidential.
Initiatives on the one hand are expected to help the university identify certain areas where it must get certain teachers to improve while others motivate teachers to take regular classes and ensure good involvement with students during their college.
“Information about this is available on the university website.
Universities have also introduced feedback forms for current university students on their official website – www.allduniv.ac.in.
Feedback forms give students the opportunity to register their response to the teachers who taught them in their class, “said Au Pro Jaya Kapoor.
This input will help the university achieve high teaching standards and research, he added.
He said feedback would also help assess the performance of individual faculty members and facilitate the University of Allahabad to appreciate high players.
It will also help other teachers in improving their performance.
The form is completed as part of the process in two steps.
“In the first step, all directions and information needed are available and students need to fill in the basic details there.
In the second, students need to mark their responses as asked,” he added.
