PRAYAGRAJ: A seven-member health department team, including two medial officers (MOs), on Friday visited Mendara and adjoining villages under the Shringverpur block in trans- Ganga area of Prayagraj and conducted a door-to-door survey to compile details regarding people having Covid-like symptoms. Health education officer (HEO) of Kaurihar, Dinesh Kumar Yadav said, “A seven-member team has conducted a door to door survey in Mendara village, which comprises of more than 15 mazras having population of over 10,000 people, to verify the facts regarding Covid-related deaths and people having Covid-like symptoms.” He added, “The village had reported only two Covid deaths in the past two months. However, primary health workers are approaching every household in Mendara and adjoining villages and trying to find out people having Covid-related symptoms.” The team members also visited the kin of the people who had died of other ailments, including cancer, between April 6 and May 20 and compiled the details. The team members have appealed to village people to get registered for vaccination. “A primary health worker is visiting at least five houses of the concerned village to compile the records of persons having Covid-like symptoms and further refer cases to RRT (Rapid response team) for required testing and treatment if required.”
