Dhaka: Pakistan recovered from the top collapse to defeat Bangladesh by four goals at the first international Twenty20 of their three-match series in Dhaka on Friday.
The visitors limited Bangladesh with a little 127-7 because the hosts won a throw and chose to be first at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium.
Fast Bowler Hasan Ali took 3-22 and the right arm of the Pacer Medium Mohammad Wasim Jr.
2-24 for the visitors as Afif Hossic Top-Scholed with 36 Balls for Bangladesh.
But the tempting target seemed increasingly challenging when Pakistan slumped to 24-4 in pursuit.
Mustafizur Rahman Bowled Mohammad Rizwan for 11 and Taskin Ahmed removed Babar Azam for seven when Bangladesh put Pakistan under their pressure.
Haider Ali and Shoaib Malik both went for ducks, marks of palms before and Wicketkeeper Nurul Hasan showed the presence of the mind to run out last.
Malik walked out outside the fold after conceding the ball when Hasan threw it back to the stump, and replay showed veteran campaign late to rub the delusion.
But Fakhar era and Khushdil Shah put them back on track with a 56 seat for the fifth goal, both of them piled up the beat of 34 runs.
When Shah fell Pakistan still needed 32 running out of 3.1 overs but Shadab Khan and Mohammad Nawaz saw them home with a few punches in the innings.
It was Khan who hit six who won to take them to 132-6 with four spare balls, making him unbeaten at 21 escaping from 10 balls.
“Credit to the middle order, the way they show their skills.
Fakhar, Khushdil, the way Nawaz was finished,” said Pakistan captain Babar Azam.
Skipper Bangladesh Mahmuditlah Riyad is optimistic about his choice for the first bat.
“When we chose to stick, it looked like a good goal.
But there was help for the bowler too.
This is not a reason,” he said the second match of this series will be held on the same land on Saturday.
