Jaipur: Skipper New Zealand Kane Williamson said playing against India was one of the biggest challenges in the game.
India and New Zealand will lock the horns in the T20i three matches, starting Wednesday night at Jaipur.
“When you play against India, it is one of the biggest challenges in the game and in all formats, the depth they have in their country and the quality they have as long as is something extraordinary and it is the reason where they are in the world of Cricket, “Williamson said in the video posted on Blackcaps Twitter handle.
Williamson will miss the T20i series of three matches that will come against India which will take place late Wednesday.
“Blackcaps Captain Kane Williamson will miss the T20 series of three matches this week against India because he prioritizes preparing a test series from November 25 at Kanpur,” said Cricket New Zealand (NZC) said in a statement.
NZC said with the opening game of the T20 series on Wednesday night, followed by games on Friday and Sunday night – a decision was made for Williamson to join a group of test specialists who had practiced in Jaipur when they focused on the preparation of the red ball.
The SouthEe team’s doubles member will be the T20 side captain for the opening match on Wednesday, while Daryl Mitchell, Glenn Phillips, and Mitchell Santner is also available for both series.
