Police held a security meeting with the bank after a robbery effort

Hubballi: Learning a lesson from a recent bank robbery incident during the day in Hubballi, the police have directed all banks in twin cities to strengthen existing security guidelines to fight for the incident.
On Tuesday the SBI monkey hat branch in Koppikar Road and took around Rs 7 lakh after threatening the manager and other staff with a knife.
He was arrested in a few minutes with two police officers at Koppikar Road with help from the local community.
The police have issued several guidelines for bankers.
Police Commissioner Labhu Ram told Toi: “We conducted a virtual meeting with all bankers in twin cities on Friday to review the security settings by each bank.
I really asked all bankers to apply all security and safety steps according to existing security guidelines.
Each bank must have alarm system, CCTVs are sufficient in and around its place, and panic switches to remind customers, police and others if there is an unward incident in the bank.
“Police Commissioner said that most banks followed the steps Safety steps according to the guidelines but they need to strengthen this and those who still need to improve the security system they have been asked to do so soon.
In addition, regional security officers from each bank have been directed to focus on increasing the number of CCTV and appoint more guards, he said.
Some bankers were said to have asked the police department to increase police patrols during the weekend near the bank, ATM units and improve patrols in vulnerable areas, crone and isolated where the bank operates an ATM.
