Hubballi: In an effort to rule on customary violators and rowdy sheets, Hubballi-Dharwad police have decided to get Suretys bonds from the violators they will obey the law.
The police can choose for the seizure of the number of bonds if the perpetrator has implications in the new criminal case.
While the provisions to take a guarantee have been in the criminal procedure code so far, the increasing threat of noise has forced the police to enforce this provision more provisions.
The police have come up with the idea of collecting bonds from Rowdies after seeing gang war incidents, attacks and other crimes.
Towards the local body election, and the festival on the corner, the police have increased the steps to curb elements of noise in twin cities.
Nearly more than 700 active rowdies are said to have completed a guarantee bond with a nominal value of Rs 1 lakh or more than that, and the process is still on.
K Ramrajan, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Law and Order, said that there are provisions for legally binding to active rowdies and criminals who make disturbances as precautions.
“Remembering the increasing incidence of attacks for rising, stabbing and also the incident of murder in Hubballi-Dharwad, we discussed with Police Commissioner Labhuram, legal experts and others and decided to tie Rowdies and problems.
Until now more than 1,150 people have been bound to whom.
More than 700 is active rowdies and resting spoiled in arguments and clashes repeatedly with their neighbors and others over some problems, especially property disputes.
After someone is bound, it will be easy to start further actions including the existing or to order under the law Goonda if the person continues the activity that violates the law, “he added.
The number of rowdies bound-over is deeper in the limit of the Keshwapur and Ashok Nagar police station.
