Prayagraj: All Indian Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) has lowered the Mafia Don and former MP Atiq Ahmed’s Wife Shaista Parveen from the chair of the western Assembly Allahabad.
The chair has been considered an Atiq camp.
Although it has not been officially announced by the party, Aimim division spokesman Afsar Mehmood has confirmed to the Toi that he will become a party candidate from Allahabad West.
Atiq has won the assembly poll from Allahabad West several times in the past, including in 1989, 1991 and 1993 as an independent candidate and in 1996 as a candidate for the Sawadi Party while in 2002 he pocketed the APNA Dal seat.
The chair is currently represented by the Cabinet Minister Sidharth Nath Singh.
Although the party leaders are still silent in the name of candidates in another seat, the leaders of AIMIM claim that the President of the Shah Alam Party can compete from Allahabad South Seat while the May Atiq Party of Kanpur Cantonment this time.
Atiq’s wife has stated he joined Aimim a few months ago and at that time the party leaders said that Atiq and his relatives could compete from five assembly chairs.
Atiq joined Aimim along with his relatives and maids, the declaration made by his wife Shaista at a public meeting held in Prayagraj back several months.
He also read the emotional letter sent by former member of parliament where he expressed his faith in the head of the Asaduddin Owaisa party.
