Prasagraj: Sangam City on Wednesday reported 15 cases of new dengue fever, taking calculation to 850.
New cases detected from Rajapur (2), Baihrana (1), Preetam Nagar (1), Pepper Ki Saray (1), 1) , Govindpur (1), aware of bazaar (1), Newada (1), Katju Colony (1), Swaraj Nagar (1), Jhalwa (1), there is Colony -Naini (1) and Bahadurpur (1) and Bahadurpur (1 ).
Of the 15 detected cases, 13 came from the city area, while the other two came from rural areas.
In addition, of a total of 850 cases of dengue fever in the district so far, 612 is reported in urban bags, while the rest are in rural areas.
Health department officials acknowledge that the number of cases detected in urban and semi-urban bags is more than twice compared to rural areas.
Officials also added that awareness campaigns had been taken more than a dozen areas where cases were reported at frequent intervals.
Team from the Ministry of Health, after witnessing a significant surge in dengue cases in urban and semi-urban areas, intensifying the driving for anti-larval spraying in the city area including Rajapur, Teliyarganj, Swaraj Nagar, Naini, Newada, Jhalwa and places side by side.
A senior health official said that the health team specifically constantly made residents realizing preventive measures to examine the spread of dengue fever and have appealed them to use mesh and mosquito repellent.
He added that the door-to-door campaign was also taken in urban bags in the city, especially in infected colonies and urban areas to determine the factors behind the constant increase in cases of dengue fever.
Fogging and anti-larvae spraying exercises have also been intensified in pockets identified in the city and trans-ganga and Yamuna, adding the official.
