PRAYAGRAJ: A joint group of police and government on Sunday day conducted the funeral of six unidentified bodies that were discovered to the bank of river Ganga on Unnao-Fatehpur boundary on Sunday morning.
Inspector general of police ( Prayagraj scope ) K Singh told TOI a group of Fatehpur authorities acting on a tip off as many as six figures had been lying around the banks of Ganga on Unnao-Fatehpur boundary, have recovered and sent for post mortem.
He added that the figures had nothing more to do with Covid 19.
He, however, stated that bodies, according to prima faciethat have been highly decomposed and may have begun drifting from far off areas.
IG reported that a bunch of sailors have informed local authorities about the putting of six figures to the banks of ganga around the boundary of Unnao and Fatehpur district boundary along with the authorities immediately swung into action.
Fatehpur authorities stated that these bodies may have come from Unnao later drifting from far off places.
The combined team of the police and management had played the previous rite of figures in Bithora Ganga ghat in accordance with the guidelines.
No identification of figures had been created up to now.
