BELOGIVAVI: A group of students studying in the PU College government in the city of Ramadurga in the Bethobavi came to the class wrapped in Safron scarves on Tuesday.
The incident was revealed after video clips and photos of events appeared on social media.
In the morning, a group of 10-12 students walked on the campus wearing scarves after hijab lines in the coastal district and malnad in the state.
After the intervention of college staff and local police, who asked students to remove scarves, the latter were obliged and attended the class.
Privy’s source for the incident said that students initially arguing with staff citing similar incidents on the Udupi campus.
The police and staff were highlighted to students importing uniforms in educational institutions after that they released a scarf.
The principal also warned firm action if they repeated this.
In the video clip circulated on social media, a man was seen arguing with the police, where PSI told him “I will convince you that in Ramadurga, there is no communal incidence that occurred and please ask them to repeat this action.” The source in the police department said that students might be carried away by a sustainable line elsewhere in the state, where students present their religious identity on campuses.
However, there were no hijab-shawl clashes in college when the students here adhere to the uniform rules, added the police “there were no hijab links to the incident.
They took off the scarf after being told,” he said.
