PAARL (South Africa): The mixture in the form of Kl Rahul, who led India in the first ODI ongoing against South Africa, has become the third player to lead his country in 50 matches without being peeled in the previous Cricket ‘list.
Two other Indian players, who achieved this rare achievement were goalkeeper Syed Kirmani and the opening of the Virender Flamboyant Sehwag.
Rahul was given the captain for the three-match ODI series after the new captain of Rohit Sharma was not suitable for the series and voters had decided to switch from Virat Kohli, after he resigned as captain T20.
Kl Rahul, who came from Karnataka, also became the captain of India for the first time in ODI 39th and the last time a player led the country before playing 50 Odi was Mohinder Amarnath in October 1984.
It was ‘Jimmy’ Amarnath’s 35 Odi, when he peeled party.
South Africa decided to look first in a ongoing match, with Madhya Pradesh All-Rounder Venkates Iyer made his ODI debut.
