Hubballi: In an effort to encourage reading between personnel, Police Commissioner Hubballi-Dharwad has formed a library exclusively for the police and their families at the Armed City Armed Reserve (car).
Most of the police seem to tend to read non-fiction, which, besides increasing their knowledge of the main subjects, can help them perform well in competitive examinations.
Pension police personnel also seem to flock to the library, explore their collection in their spare time.
Constable and Writer Somu Reddy told the Toi that many police appealed to their superiors to establish libraries exclusively for police personnel.
“The library appeared in July, and it has become a place where we go to relax.
Instead of addiction to crime, we can improve our lives by reading books in the library,” Reddy said.
Basavaraj Biradar, librarian, said that the number of people entering the library witnessed a gradual increase since opening the door.
“We have 740 books in our library, where almost 90% are non-fiction, reading which will help candidates check competitive checks such as Karnataka Administrative Services, United Public Service Commission, etc.
