LONDON: Ollie Robinson was recalled to the England squad on Wednesday for the first two matches of the test series against India after a Twitter row of students who overshaded their debut.
Robinson received a ban on eight matches, five of them were suspended, for racist and sexist tweets posted in 2012 and 2013 which were revealed again during a 27-year-old Bow Test against New Zealand in June.
But a discipline hearing paved the way for sailor players to showcase India after underestimating Robinson had served a ban on three matches, after being suspended from the second test against New Zealand and then out of two twenty matches for the sides of the County Sussex.
Robinson performed well on his debut England, took seven goal – including the catch of 4-75 – and made 42 useful in the opening series drawn in Lord’s.
But Twitter storm means he is suspended from international duty and missed eight goal defeat in the second and last test against New Zealand in Edgbaston, on the contrary who saw England losing their first test series at home in seven years.
But he is now back in the squad for two matches opening five exam campaigns against India in Trent Bridge (starting August 4) and God (August 12).
“We have chosen Ollie Robinson after debuting the seven thwitting test against New Zealand,” said Chief Coach Chris Silverwood in the statement of the British Cricket Board and Wales.
“Ollie proves in the test that it has the ability to replicate its extraordinary shapes in the district championship at the international level and we will continue to work with it to develop a British career.”
