Mumbai: In a surprising development, Saurashtra-rocks, Barot AVI, who played for the Under-19 Indian team, died only at the age of 29 because of a massive heart attack, at Ahmedabad on Friday at around 8:30 a.m., while watching the IPL Final.
Barot survived by his wife, Nidhi, who is currently a four-month pregnant, and Kashmira’s mother.
“Incidentally, his father had also died of a heart attack when he was in his 40s, a few years ago.
Only a few days back, Fisio we have talked to him about plans for the upcoming season,” said a Saurashtra Cricket Association official.
In a bright career so far, Barot has played 21 Trophy Ranji matches, 17 game lists and 11 T20 Ties for Saurashtra.
Overall, he has played 38 first-class matches (1547 runs@24.95, with a hundred and nine fifts) 38 list of games (1030 runs@28.61, with eight fifty) and 20 t20s (717 runs@37.73, one hundred and fifties) for Three domestic-Gujarat teams, Saurashtra and Haryana.
Only six days ago, on October 10, Barot had destroyed 72 balls, with seven four and four six to help Saurashtra beat Gujarat in the final of the T20 T20 senior Reliance G-1 men’s tournament.
