LONDON: The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) worked in the Covid-19 protocol to arrange heating games for the Indian tour team against the ‘combined’ team in the third week of July as a tune-up for the first test in Nottingham starting 4.
Three-day matches , which may be given first class status, will complain of the Indian team against ‘Select County Xi’ which in previous times is known as ‘Combined County’.
The tentative date can be between 20-22 July.
“We realized the request from BCCI to play three-day warm-up match against County chose XI as part of the Indian men’s test team that accumulated to five LV matches = series insurance test,” ECB.
A spokesman told PTI.
“We are working on the operation and Covid-19 protocol to ensure we can send this and will confirm in time.” The Indian Test Team will report to Emirates Riverside, Durham for their pre-test camp on July 15 and will do it to be prepared in the Venue until August 1 before heading to Trent Bridge, Nottingham ahead of the first test from August 4, “said the spokesman.
When asked What would be the quality of the opposition remember ‘one hundred’ starting from July 23, the spokesman said: “This will be a player who is not in ‘one hundred’ and we will see to choose the strongest squad available,” ECB said.
Indians seemed less cooked during the final championship test against New Zealand after playing only one intra-squad game in the build-up that many experts such as Sunil Gavascar and Alastair Cook were not enough before high intensity matches.
In fact, Captain Virat Kohli, after the final was lost , has expressed displeasure at no given fire game T and BCCI classes have asked the ECB for training games.
The management of the Indian team has understood BA Hwa could not be well prepared without first class or at least a heating game against the opposition team.
As shown by the cook during the show at the BBC Test Special match, “intra-squad games, as good as your intention may be, it does not have the same intensity.” “The first hour might be very competitive but everything goes less and less.
India is difficult to do that way,” Cook.
