Dharwad: Congress workers in North Karnataka, especially from the Dharwad district that was not divided, upset with high party commands because they felt leaders had forced outsiders to them.
The southern part of the Dharwad district that was not divided before, which was previously Dharwad South Lok Sabha Constitution (now called Haveri Lok Sabha Constitution), has become a favorite for Congress as several leaders from outside, especially from the old territory of Mysore, who has lost elections in their area placed in efforts to rehabilitate them.
The story of rehabilitation has a long history.
It began with the Medan Minister of Chief S Nijalingappa, who was selected without the opportunity of the Constituency of the Shiggaon Assembly in 1967.
Nijalingappa, who came from Chitradurga Regency, has lost the election of the 1962 assembly to GT Rangappa from the Praja Socialist Party with a Margin of 5,709 votes.
In the same election, Fakkirappa Taware from Congress has won from Shiggaon against Patil PSP ft with a margin of 14,232 votes.
So, Shiggaon is now considered a safe seat for Congress.
In 1967, the party decided to cover Nijalingappa from there and when opposition parties did not give candidates, Nijalingappa entered the undeniable assembly.
In the 1984 national elections, Congress offered SAITE AZEEZ from Mysuru from the South Dharwad constituency.
Janata’s party candidate is Abdul Nazeer Sab.
Sait was won by a margin of 57,607 votes.
This chair has been considered safe for Congress as FH Mohsin, BM Mujahid and IG Sanadi have won there before.
But lately, the congress has seen disruption in Dharwad South.
Saleem Ahmed from Bengaluru which was MLC from 1996-2002 and 2002-2008 was lowered by the Congress at Dharwad South (now Haveri) Parliament Constituency in the 2014 Sabha Sabha election.
Saleem lost the two elections to the BJP Udasi Shivakumar.
Santosh Lad, who came from Sandaur, was another outsider to be accommodated by Congress in the Dharwad district when he was given a ticket for the contest from the Kalghatigi assembly constituents in 2008.
His previous constituitation was provided for STS.
After winning in 2008 and 2013, he lost in 2018.
In the 2018 Assembly poll, former Chairman of the Minister of Siddaramaiiah, was afraid of losing to Chamundeshwari, also contested from Badami in Bagalkot Regency.
While he lost Chamundeshwari of 36,000 votes, he canceled in Badami with a slim 1,696 voice margin against B Sriramulu from BJP.
Now Saleem Ahmed lobby for Congress tickets to oppose the selection of the legislative council from the local authority electoral district in the Dharwad district which is not divided (consisting of Dharwad, Haveri and Gadag Regency), there is a palpable hatred among local leaders.
The source said the party tended to involve a Muslim candidate and there were several candidates from the community.
“Saleem has lost twice in the selection of Sabha and remembers it again for tickets at a cost of some loyal party workers unacceptable.
The upper building must have senior leaders who are experts in various fields and are able to review the decisions taken by the house down.
Should not be the center Rehabilitation for those who cannot win the election of assembly.
Have you ever heard of a party of a leader of North Karnataka who has lost the election that is being deployed in a safe constituency area in South Karnataka? Why should we always sacrifice? “Asked the candidate.
He said that high command must respect the sentiment of local loyal party workers and involve senior people for elections from the local authority to the council.
