Karwar: Inclusion of Shivaram Hebbar in the Cabinet Minister of Basavaraj Basavara can sharpen the fault line in the Uttara Kannada district unit from the Safron Party.
A man who is not commonly known to have a connection with grassroots, Hebbar jumped ship from Congress to BJP in 2019.
A MLA of the Yellow Constituency, however, struggled to maintain seats in elections, the margin of his victory only ended 1,500 votes.
However, Hebbar is one of the many legislators, defection by who is leading the JD Kumaraswamy-LED (s) coalition government, inaugurated in the Cabinet BS Yediyurappa as Minister of Labor.
Vishweshwar Hegde Kageri, who served as a speaker from the legislature during the Yediyurappa term, was the most senior BJP leader in this district, after being elected to the assembly six times on Trot.
Yediyurappa was forced to put the Hebbar in his cabinet because the last defection had helped the BJP pole claim power in the state.
Furthermore, the party’s center leadership persuaded Kageri to receive a speaker post.
In fact, the competition between Kageri and Hebbar dates back to more than two and a half decades.
Hebbar had become President Unit Uttara Kannada BJP in 1995, but his competition with MP Uttara Kannada, Anantkumar Hegde and Kageri pushed him to leave a party and join the Congress.
Another legislator from Uttara Kannada Regency who had to swallow the bitter pill which was excluded from the cabinet was Karwar Mla Roopali rose, which had been camping in Bengaluru for the past week and lobbying for the bed.
KUMTA MLA was embossed Shetty was another ministerial candidate, but he went about lobbying for a bed in the Bommai cabinet, deeper.
Workers and officials at Uttara Kannada BJP are afraid that the Inclusion of Hebbar into the Bommai Cabinet at the expense of other Safron Party loyalists will expand slices in the party in coastal districts.
They will pay close attention to see if new cm managed to keep all the candidates disappointed happily.
“Now until the Hebbar, who must ensure that the inclusion does not leave a party at Uttara Kannada a house divided,” said a BJP official.
