Prasagraj: The state government on Monday told Allahabad High concords that the Special Investigation Team was formed to investigate into a request submitted by a retired Indian Army Army who accused the insults and brutal torture by the Uttar Pradesh police.
The state government stated that he told the court that Sit will also investigate the charges made in FIR submitted by retired Soldier Resham Singh.
Further action, including the arrest of police officers accused, will be carried out if they prime facie is guilty in a preliminary investigation.
Maintaining the submission made by the state government in the record, the division bench consisting of Judge Surya Prakash Kesarwani and Gautam Chaudhari was directed to put up this case on July 16 for further hearing.
In the direction of the court, UP DGP submitted a statement with a personal statement on Monday.
Country counsel, based on counter-statement information, told the court that some actions had been made to police officers accused, including Sunil Kumar Sharma’s sub-inspector and RAM Naresh Singh investigative officers, and the initial investigation was being carried out.
State advice said, the latest status of this problem must be placed before this court on the next hearing date, when the Advocate General will also appear in court.
On July 8, after taking into account the injury and FIR reports submitted by retirees, HC had observed: “Prima Facie, it shows a very sorry state – the cruelty of the police and violations of the basic rights of the Petitioner by the Petitioner by accusing police officers.” Emphasizing That this problem is serious and requires serious consideration about the court, it has directed the DGP to propose a counter-statement with his personal Affidavit statement, shows the actions taken in this matter.
According to the petition, on May 2, Singh, along with his mother and two sisters, will go to Lakhimpur Kheri from Pilibhit, when they were stopped by police officials around 9am.
