New Delhi: The upcoming tour of Sri Lanka from India is likely to see changes in the schedule.
The tour that should begin with two series tests followed by three T20i series matches can be played otherwise.
“Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has asked BCCI to play the first T20i series instead of a test match.
The Sri Lankan team will play the T20i series against Australia before coming to India.
It will be easy for them to send a team that will already be in a bubble,” said a BCCI official.
If BCCI accepts the request, it will give them more time to take calls in place for testing, given the Covid-19 situation in this country.
Until now, the T20IS scheduled to be played in Mohali, Dharamshala and Lucknow while Bengaluru and Mohali should host two tests.
