Beleagavi: The MLC Congress made a surprising revelation by claiming that he and several other members spent Crores Rupee to be chosen to the legislative council.
Raghu Achar, whose term of office will expire on January 5, accused that the candidate who lost the election of the assembly entered the top house by spending large amounts.
“I was also elected to the council by spending crores rupees.
I aim to enter the assembly in the next election,” he said.
Achar claims the council has become the center of rehabilitation for politicians, and the home reputation has reached low due to the entry of moneybags.
Apart from the member of the BJP City of Srinivas Poojary, he said no one got an entry without spending money.
Two times MLC said he attended the house during his first term and listened to the debate, but stopped doing it from the second term because the quality of the debate was reduced when members were wasted by repeating what other people have presented.
He claimed even the debate held during the newly concluded session did not have quality.
“There is no point in coming to the Counsel by spending money to attend a session when the government is not ready to listen to the opposition,” Achar added.
Some members who cut party lines take objections to this.
The Chairman of the Minister of Basavaraj Bommai asked Achar why he made this statement when he retired.
“I will appreciate it if you have raised this problem far earlier,” CM said.
BJP member Ayanur Manjunath said he (Achar) had insulted the house with his comments and looked for his apology.
“This house has a big tradition because many respected personalities are members.
You not only insult us but even them,” he said.
Then, Achar said: “I apologize if my words hurt anyone.”
