Mandya: The assignment of districts about mining has canceled 11 rental of stone mining above Babybetta because it did not comply with the necessary conditions including submitting a certificate of objection from the Department of Environment.

Among the canceled leases, four units were ordered to turn off the devastating activities for violating the Karnataka regulation of the Crusher Act stone, 2011 because this law stipulates that no devastating activities must be carried out within 100 meters of district roads.
Taskforce has also developed a series of steps including forming a team and checkpoint to prevent illegal mining and transportation.
The team will consist of officers from income, forests, Panchayat Raj, Police and Mine and the Geology Department.
A total of 11 checkpoints must be made to prevent the transport of stone ore illegally.
According to Padmaja, a senior geologist, a total of 12 personal complaints are registered with the owner of illegal mining units.
“Since April, 2021, the total RS 33.7 lakh is well collected from 119 vehicle owners to bring illegal ore,” he said.
