Madikeri: A man and his teenage son died in an accident on the road in Kodagu.
They drove a two-wheeled vehicle that collided with the jeep in Siddapur, on Friday.
Even though they shifted to the hospital in MySuru, they both died early on Saturday.
Mani, 53, and his son Praveen, 21, worked as a laborer on a coffee plantation.
Mani works at the Emmegundi branch of Tata Coffee, while Praveen works in a plantation in Arkadu.
Because it was a holiday on Friday, because Hail Muhurtha, Mani went to Arkadu and took his son to Emmegundi, to celebrate the festival.
While they were near Siddapur, with Praveen Riding Pilion, a jeep that came from the opposite direction hit the two wheels in Mullethodu near Siddapur.
The man who was seriously injured and his son fell to the ground and begged for help.
Some young men who were present at the place took him to the Siddapur government hospital for first aid, after which they shifted to the hospital in Madikeri, and then shifted to Mysuru for better care, but they both gave up on their injury.
Their bodies were taken to Siddapur to be cremated, but some people did not let their last ritual be carried out in Hindu crematorium, because they claimed that they had entered other religions, and went to the center of prayer in Hunsur.
Relatives then took the bodies to Hunsur to do the last ritual.
Police Siddapur has registered a case against the owner of Jeep Ranjith, who drove a vehicle during an accident.
