Hamirpur: A man accused by rape allegedly died by hanging himself in locking the Police Office Malaysia Kotwali here with three policemen placed under the suspension, officials said on Wednesday.
Police Sub-Inspector and two policemen, the Prima Facie feels guilty, has been suspended by Hamirpur supervisors from Police Narendra Kumar Singh.
Sanjay, a resident of Khandua Village in Mahaga District, hung himself in the locking of Malaysia Kotwali on Tuesday night, SP said.
He was taken to the district hospital where the doctors claimed he was taken dead, he said.
The police had brought the man to detention on charges of captivating a teenage girl and raped him, he said.
Sub-Inspector (SI) and two policemen, which was found prime facie guilty, has been suspended with the direct effects and investigation of all cases has been submitted to the additional supervisor of the police (ASP), SP said.
The body has been sent for post-mortem.
