Amsterdam: Two men suspected of shooting a famous Dutch crime reporter appeared in the court Friday and was ordered to remain in detention for two more weeks, while the doctor was still struggling to save the life of the journalist at the Amsterdam Hospital.

de Vries was shot in the head while walking to his car after a television appearance on Tuesday night.
The attack on De Vries, known to report the courage of the under the Dutch world, raises worries around Europe about the safety and freedom of media journalists.
His condition remained “unchanged” since the shooting, according to a statement from his family.
A ceremony in honor de Vries was held Friday afternoon at the Amsterdam Wester Church Brorder, who welcomed visitors to light candles and observe the moment of silence.
About 4,000 white roses accumulate their honor at nearby national monuments, with a sign of reading “attacks on press freedom.” Dutch police said the suspected shooter was a 21-year-old Dutch, and a 35-year-old Poland man who lived in the Netherlands was accused of driving a vacation car.
They were arrested not long after de Vries was injured.
Heavy security honed the Amsterdam District Court for Friday’s hearing.
The court said in a statement that “There are currently objections and sufficient reasons to keep the two men in pre-trial detention.” They were ordered to be held for 14 more days when the investigation continued.
No motive for the attack was disclosed.
“We are running several scenarios and works with all our strengths to find out what the role of the suspect and who else is responsible,” said Police spokesman Sarah Tillart.
De Vries reported at the most famous crime in the country, from the kidnapping heineken heineken in the investigation of his 2005 murder Teen Natale Natalee when he was on vacation on the Netherlands Caribbean Aruba Island.
Recently, he had served as an advisor and believers in witnesses in the main trial of the alleged drug Ridouan Taghi.
Taghi and the other 16 are tried during a series of murders, including the murder of 2016 Crime Bloggers who have reported criminal activities suspected of accusing Taghi.
According to the newspaper Dutch Daily de Telegraaf, the 21-year-old suspect was a cousin of members of the Taghi organization which served a period of 13-year prison terms to regulate a series of murder attempts to rival gang members.
Taghi’s lawyer said his client was not involved in shooting journalists.
“There has been a flood report in the media about who is responsible for this terrible event.
However, my client Ridouan Taghi has been referenced without substantial objectives,” said lawyer Inez Weski in a statement on Tuesday.
Two people related to Witness De Vries were being reviewed in recent years, witness lawyers and siblings.
