Hubballi: Parking Puzzle Project in Mahatma Gandhi Park in Hubballi is ready and awaits the opening since April this year.
Smart parking project, which costs around Rs 5 Crore, is planned to remember poor roads and chaotic parking in the city of Hubballi.
This project was delayed last year due to Pandemic and Hubballi-Dharwad Smart City Ltd.
(HDSCL) extended the time to complete work.
In March-April 2021, parking was made ready and testing was carried out by the authorities to check the feasibility, strength and other aspects.
However, it has not been inaugurated and cannot be used by the city community.
The parking area can take around 37 cars at five levels.
CW Shakeel Ahemad, the Managing Director of HDSCL said because there were several other development projects in Mg Park, it would soon be a few weeks old, the inauguration of the parking lot had to wait so far.
RB Basaragi, deputy police commissioner, crime and traffic, said that parking facilities would help reduce traffic movements in the city.
“In Hubballi many people visit the market.
At present, the traffic movement is suffocated because of the construction work on the road.
If parking puzzles are disposed of to use, then the public will also use it,” he said.
“This facility will not only help reduce the traffic movements but also generate income for Hubballi-Dharwad Municipal Corporation,” he added.
