Hampi (Vijayanagara): Vice President Venkaah Naidu was amazed by planning, science and beauty of the statue during a hampi tour on Saturday.
VP, accompanied by his family, visited several monuments on the heritage site since Saturday morning, T M Sabev, retired archaeologist, bringing families on a tour along with the Local Guide Mohamad Ali, sharing information about monuments in English and Teglugu.
Vidyavati, Director General of ASI, also provided details about the temples to guests, many of Naidu’s entertainment who wondered about the monuments and history of Kaya Vijayanagara Istama Empire.
Naidu, his wife M Amha and other family members began a tour with the Virupaksheshwara temple, where they took Darshan of Deity Virupaksheshwara and offered special Puja.
The district government has increased strict security by limiting tourists to world heritage sites.
The family then visited Kadale Temple Kalu Ganesha, Sasuve Kalu Ganesha, Krishna and Vijaya Vittala, Lotus Mahal and Mahanavami onbabs.
Naidu was fascinated by the music pillar at Vijaya Vijaya Temple.
At night, they are treated to ’empty at night’, light shows and sounds that illuminate the monument.
“The history of the Sri Krishnadevaraya dynasty must be part of the teaching (Pathyakrama) to continue his inheritance and culture to the younger generation.
The dynasty has treated people in the region like his family,” Naidu added.
“People from all over the country, especially the younger generation, must visit this place and see the nearest heritage and land culture.
They also have to know about the work done by the Indian archaeological survey in defending the same,” he added.
