On the occasion of children’s day, the KSRTC issued a circular teacher conductor to consider the evidence of the age of children rather than their height when spending half a ticket or allowing them to travel for free.
Circular before, dated 30 October 2004, ordered conductors to collect full fees if the child is at least 140 cm high rates and half if the child is at least 117 cm.
Children, both men and women, with an altitude of 117 cm or more are considered to have completed 6 years, while they with a height of 140 cm or more are considered to have completed 12 years.
After coiling, the official has marked a gauge on the bus to measure the height of children if there are doubts about their age.
In a new circular, the head of the traffic manager (operation), KSRTC, Bengaluru, has clarified that conductors do not need to examine the height of children if they have evidence of age.
No need to use other criteria so age has been confirmed.
The same circular has been issued by the KKRTC, while NWKRTC still considered it.
“We are considering it and will issue a statement within 2-3 days,” said Rajesh Huddar, CTM (Operations), NWKRTC, Hubballi.welcoming the circular, Ravi Bhandari, coordinator, child aid channel, said that some children have complained.
about this problem.
“It is not scientific to measure heights.
Demanding documents to determine one’s age can be accepted.
