Prasagraj: At least three people were killed and four others suffered a serious injury when they were trimmed by a quick van pickup near the PAL market area on Jalan Raya Kanpur-Prayagraj under the boundaries of the Puramufi police station here on Friday morning.
The deceased was identified as Nandkishore (65), Bhagwandeen (70) and Pradeep aka Baba (65), all Puramufi residents.
Police Supervisors (City) Dinesh Kumar Singh told the Toi that the incident took place around 7 in the morning when the driver of the speeding Van pickup lost control over the vehicle and cut at least seven people near the Pasar PAL area.
The three of them died in a place while four others, including Mohd Shakeel, Day, Sujojeet and each other rushed to the hospital for treatment.
SP then added that the victims came to entertain members of a man who reported died of a heart stop on Friday morning.
While they stood near his house, a fast vehicle, whose driver was sleepy, lost control and trimmed it.
The incident created panic in the area and locals gathered to help victims.
The police have won the vehicle and registered a case in this connection.
