Prasagraj: National Spokesman Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) Rakesh Tikait has denied unification reports that extend support to the Samajwadi Party – Rashtriya Lok Dal (SP-RLD) alliance in the election of the State Assembly.
Sikait, who arrived at Magh Mela to attend A ‘Chintan Shivir’, on Monday, said, “Uni Kisan will not extend its support to any party or political alliance.” He also clarified that no official announcement made about expanding support to the previous SP-RLD alliance.
“We have not extended support and we will immediately confirm that through our official social media account too.” He further clarified, “If someone comes to our house to find a blessing, we just say ‘us’.
We don’t tell anyone who chooses.
We have decided that we will not support anyone,” and added, ” I have explained that we have nothing to do with the selection of assembly in the state and people are free to choose anyone they want.
“” No one from Kisan Union will oppose the State Assembly poll, “he added.
He, however, said that “the opposition must always be strong, any government comes in the country”.
“Win Yogi Adityanath from Gorakhpur is a necessity for strong opposition in the state,” he further asserted.
Tikait also said that “farmers that make sense and understand what they have to do”.
Tikait said that he would also meet with a family member of the farmers who died in Lakhimpur Khiri and then put on a new strategy.
