Prayagraj: After receiving a nod forming the Civil Aviation Security Bureau (BCAS) to handle cargo services from civilian bags, Bamrauli, authorities of the authorities (Prayagraj region) have decided to start experimental services.
Initially, cargo booked from the airport by local entrepreneurs would be sent to their final destination via passenger plane.
The proposal to start the cargo flight connectivity between Prayagraj and other cities in the country were sent to BCA in November last year.
After getting a green signal from the security bureau, the cargo service has now begun.
Although the cargo is currently transported by passenger planes, in time the service provider includes Indigo and Alliance Air, Air Indian subsidiary, will operate single cargo flights to and from the city.
However, this will depend on the cargo volume booked for and for the city.
Local entrepreneurs have expressed happiness despite the fact that now is a regular testing process and booking will begin on July 15.
The airline still makes a business volume assessment owned by the city of Sangam, depending on which operations from full cargo services will be introduced in the city.
At present, cargo is transported by passenger flights to the city including Pune, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Raipur, Delhi, Bhubaneswar, Dehradun, Gorakhpur and Bhopal.
In addition, Alliance Air also operates for Delhi and Bilalaspur and takes cargo bookings.
Cargo facilities from the city have been made possible after the active involvement of civilian ministers, Nand Gopal Gupta ‘Nandi’.
“We have started a cargo flight from the city.
This facility will be very useful to provide new markets, both nationally and internationally, with products in the Varanasi area, where vegetables and fruits have found new markets in Western countries too , “said Nandi.
Aai Regional Director (Prayagraj) Anchal Prakash said, “After the approval of the security bureau, cargo facilities are being handled by service providers operating from civil pockets.” The airport authority also plans to build a separate terminal in Prayagraj’s civil pocket to start a regular cargo operator.
The terminal will have all the facilities needed to handle cargo including warehouses, entrances, parking, etc., to keep items come and go from the city.
